Feb 27 2020

Streaming services accounted for 80% of music revenue sales in 2019. According to a RIAA report, recorded-music sales grew 13% last year, reaching $11.1 billion—their highest point in over a decade. Streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music accounted for 80% for revenue—thanks in part to young people who have drastically changed how they listen to music and are supporting many of their favorite artists on music streaming platforms. YPulse’s youth brand tracker found that Spotify’s Yscore jumped 26 points in 2019, thanks to increases in their popular, innovative, cool, and bright future diagnostics. (WSJ, TechCrunch)
