Crocs just launched a metaverse store inspired by their iconic Jibbitz. The footwear brand has teamed up with Obsess, a 3D ecommerce company, for the release of the Crocs Jibbitz experience. The virtual store is the newest of several that Crocs has released and includes five sections designed around the themes of Jibbitz charms including food, animals, and letters. Shoppers can also play an arcade-inspired game to win virtual charms on the platform that are able to be traded in for physical ones, as well as customize their own virtual-turned-physical set of Crocs (playing into the phygital trend). The founder and CEO of Obsess says that this collab is “marrying personalization with discovery-driven shopping, in order to drive prolonged customer value through virtual [worlds].” YPulse’s Where is the Metaverse? trend report shows that Gen Z is dominating these virtual spaces and nearly a quarter of them tell YPulse they’ve already shopped for a real product in a virtual world.
