But what about the influencers who’ve banked off the hashtag #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt and who are a part of the app’s creator programs? It ultimately boils down to clarity and quantity of payouts. Right now, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels “have competitive demographics and are growing rapidly, but Shorts has stronger, clearer payment policies.” Plus, they’re the two places young people can find similar short-form video content with affiliate shopping links from their favorite influencers.
