Aéropostale is gearing up for an extensive metaverse activation. In partnership with Web3 development platform MetaversePlus, the teen-centric apparel brand is launching a four-part metaverse experience starting with AeroPax, “a collection of 30,000 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) [that] will launch on March 23.” The NFTs include promotional perks and limited-edition apparel that double as digital passes to their upcoming metaverse realm AeroWorld, a virtual world where users can “claim avatars, access virtual and real-world experiences and collect in-game points to earn perks.” To kick off the launch, the brand is awarding each NFT holder a limited-edition hoodie after purchase and also entering them in a sweepstakes for the chance to win one of 10 free Teslas. YPulse told you how a ton of branded metaverse experiences attracted young consumers last year, but their popularity might be dying out in 2023 with the hype surrounding branded artificial intelligence experiences instead.
