Toyota is entering the world of fashion with Japanese fashion designer Jun Takahashi. The Japanese car manufacturer and Takahashi are joining forces to design the newest Aygo x model which will officially debut at the Paris Fashion Week show for his brand, Undercover. The unlikely collaboration follows a trend for car brands aiming to “look beyond traditional forms of marketing amid a slump in car sales not seen in nearly 30 years.” Fewer Gen Z are choosing to drive cars and even get their licenses at all, but by integrating Toyota with streetwear fashion (a style Gen Z loves) the collab is aiming to reach young consumers through trends they’re most interested in.
