Brat TV is building the next media ecosystem of micro-celebrities.

Mar 16 2022

Brat TV is building the next media ecosystem of micro-celebrities. YPulse called out Brat as a teen media company to look out for, and as TikTok creators continue signing with Hollywood talent agencies, Brat TV is a small L.A. studio that “wants to be the middle ground between Netflix and TikTok.” Brat TV launched in 2017 with the goal of turning teenage influencers who have built a sizable following online into micro-celebrities by creating TV series, podcasts, and more for them to star in on YouTube. For example, in Chicken Girls (one of the studio’s most popular series) the characters deal with the perils of middle school. Meanwhile, older TikTokers who work with the studio (like Dixie D’Amelio and Madi Monroe) have appeared in Attaway General, which is about a group of volunteers at a local hospital. As creators continue addressing the burnout cycle of making short-form content on TikTok, Brat TV is giving them the ability to step into long-form content and build their audience even more. Co-Founder of the Brat TV studio Rob Fishman explains, “[Brat TV] brings [TikTok creators] to a place where they can start having conversations with the platforms, with the advertisers and industry folks that let them build businesses beyond posting short-form content every day.” YPulse’s New Content Creators trend research shows 56% of young people would like to be an online celebrity.
