Jan 24 2022

Taco Bell is opening a business school to “elevate restaurant leaders and break down barriers to franchise ownership.”Created in partnership with the University of Louisville, the Taco Bell Business School is a six-week program starting in February that will teach students the basics of franchise ownership via courses aimed at building fundamental entrepreneurial skills like marketing, growth and development, financing, and human resources. Current franchise owners will also share their advice with students, and for now, the program will only be available to Taco Bell employees to support current workers’ future within the company if they’re interested in the program. Yum! Brands notes that Taco Bell Business School is aimed at providing opportunities for underrepresented people of color and women, and the educational initiative marks the QSR’s next move in the education space following its Live Más scholarship with Lil Nas X. YPulse’s Self-Taught trend research shows 38% of Gen Z and Millennials say they’re more likely to turn to a school / teacher / credited course when it comes to learning business skills. (Thrillist)
