KFC is joining the celebrity partnership bandwagon with a year-long deal with Jack Harlow. Following fast food restaurants from McDonald’s, to Popeyes, Burger King, and Taco Bell (hi Lil Nas X), KFC is working with Jack Harlow to attract the next gen. KFC’s partnership with the hip-hop artist went live on December 13 with a food truck outside of Harlow’s first hometown show in Louisville to promote KFC’s fried chicken sandwich. From December 15-16, 10-foot chicken buckets blasted some of Harlow’s music through the city, and more elements are expected to drop in 2022. Jack Harlow has quickly won over young people’s hearts in the past year (our music research shows hip-hop / rap grew among Gen Z more than any other genre in 2021), making him a strong tie-in for KFC’s celebrity partnership. YPulse’s influencers and celebrities research also shows food collaborations are the No. 1 type of influencer / celebrity partnership young people want to see. (Marketing Dive)
