Arthouse streamer Mubi is launching an offer that will let movie-goers see one film a week in theaters.

Oct 22 2021

Arthouse streamer Mubi is launching an offer that will let movie-goers see one film a week in theaters. Available in the U.S. only (at least for now), Mubi is testing Mubi Go in NYC (basically a next gen MoviePass), granting members access to one film a week for just $10.99 for new members—current Mubi SVOD subscribers can access Mubi Go with no extra cost. The Mubi Go app will create a ticket code with access to its chosen Film of the Week, and Netflix’s Passing will kick off the series on October 29. Mubi Go plans to roll out nationwide in select markets in 2022. YPulse’s Future of Experience trend research shows that young consumers’ comfort with going to see movies in-person is steadily increasing, and offering deals and creative experiences is one way studios and streamers are trying to make the in-theater movie-going experience more exciting for the next gen.
