For the Super Bowl, Verizon will host a Fortnite livestreamed concert in their new “virtual football stadium.” We told you that over half of young viewers are planning on watching the Super Bowl this year, and Verizon unveiled a virtual experience to get them excited for the big event. The company is debuting a “virtual football stadium” in Fortnite which users can visit in “Creative Mode” to see NFL players and pro gamers compete in “a variety of games custom-built for the virtual experience.” Those who don’t play Fortnite will still be able to watch the festivities on Twitch or Twitter. After the big game, Verizon will livestream The Big Concert for Small Business featuring Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, and Luke Bryan on Verizon-owned platforms like Yahoo or Fios, several cable outlets, and the brand’s social platforms. Last year, hosting events inside gaming platforms took off—and it continues to be a major trend for those trying to reach young consumers. (Marketing Dive)
