The “livestreaming boom” isn’t going away anytime soon. We already know live events have been hot during the pandemic, but many are already predicting the trend will last much longer. YPulse found that 30% of quarantined 13-39-year-olds are regularly live streaming content during their free time. According to StreamElements, users watched 1.1 billion hours of content on Twitch followed by 3 billion hours in the next quarter. th on Facebook’s video game streaming platform, which tripled its viewing numbers from the previous year, hitting 822 million hours watched. Streamlabs reported similar growth on Facebook’s video game streaming platform. While the technology and platforms with live streaming capabilities were already there, COVID just happened to accelerate it. Depending on what the setting is (whether it’s church or a concert), some people might like being able to continue attending events from the comfort of their own home. (Mashable)
