“Smart” at-home workout equipment will continue to be popular even after the pandemic. During the pandemic, smart home gyms and equipment like smart rowers, boxing gloves, mirrors, kettlebells, vertical climbing machines, and exercise bikes and treadmills have seen a huge surge in sales. According to Peleton, sales increased by 172% over the last quarter. These types of products are expected to stay even after the pandemic as young consumers choose to cut the costs of pricey gym and fitness club memberships. YPulse’s health & fitness report found that nearly half of young consumers who had gym memberships cancelled them because of COVID, and 72% of 13-39-year-olds who have been regularly working out say they’ve been enjoying doing so at home or outside.
