Animal Crossing is hosting a virtual and “adorable” Pride festival. With many in-person Pride Month parades and celebrations cancelled, brands have been finding ways to adjust this year. The organization Global Pride is committed to safely preserving Pride celebrations during the pandemic, via “the world’s biggest ever” Pride celebration on June 27th. In the lead up to the big event, the group is throwing #GlobalPrideCrossing in Animal Crossing, after being “inspired by the thriving LGBTQI+ communities” in the popular video game, the virtual event includes new features like “customizable Pride Islands, rainbow fashions for avatars, message boards, catwalks, and space for marches.” (Muse by Clio, TNW)
