The North Face, Patagonia, and REI have all pulled advertising from Facebook to protest hate speech. The North Face was the first to answer the call issued by the Stop Hate for Profit campaign, which is asking all brands to remove ads from the site for the month of July. The brand explained that they are taking action “until stricter policies are put in place to stop racist, violent or hateful content and misinformation from circulating on the platform.” As a boycott movement gains traction, pressure mounts for other brands to join in.
