The plant-based food market has reached $5 billion. According to market research firm SPINS, retail sales of plant-based foods rose 11.4% last year totaling $5 billion. Plant-based meat saw an 18% jump, while plant-based milks were up 5% in 2019—comprising 14% of the milk category. The rise in numbers is in part thanks to young consumers who fueled the fake meat industry in 2019 and who are leading the trend for non-dairy milks. (Food Dive)
