Shein is (still) leading the fast-fashion game. YPulse’s recent fashion and style preferences research found that Shein is one of young consumers top three favorite places to buy clothing, and the brand’s mobile shopping experience and growing portfolio of trendy apparel is making the brand a mainstay among young consumers. Shein has gamified its mobile shopping experience by incorporating in-app rewards consumers can earn for frequently logging into the platform, writing reviews, and playing its in-app minigames. This year, Shein has also strengthened its commitment to young designers by launching a fashion design incubator program and hosting a Shein X 100K challenge where designers can participate in a Project Runway-like competition series. Shopping on Shein is a lot like extreme couponing or bargain hunting, making it that much more addicting for young shoppers searching for the cheapest (and trendiest) styles circulating the platform.
