Facebook is developing an “Instagram for Kids.” YPulse’s social media monitor report found that 66% of 13-39-year-olds currently use Instagram, and now the company wants to target an even younger set of users. Currently, Instagram forbids users under 13-years-old from using the app, but a new initiative is building a version of the platform that allows those kids “to safely use Instagram for the first time.” This version is also expected to be a “parent-controlled experience” where parents will be able to help their kids keep up with friends as well as discover new hobbies and interests. For what it’s worth, 25% of Millennial parents tell YPulse their kids already use Instagram. (BuzzFeed News)
