Social shopping and influencer marketing will have a massive impact on the holidays. The pandemic has accelerated shopping trends and “customer expectations that must be met at scale,” and YPulse’s Holiday Shopping report found that 53% of 13-39-year-olds will be shopping online. It’s having a major impact on the holiday shopping season—or as some are calling it, the “un-season.” Social shopping has picked up quickly as well: According to an ODM Group study, 74% of consumers rely on social media to help with their purchases decisions. Of course, with social shopping comes influencer marketing: ShopStyle Collective is expecting influencers to drive a record number of sales this holiday season to “more than double from last year’s level.” (Adweek, WWD)
