Holiday movie marathons are “hotter than ever” this year. Young consumers wanted to kick off celebrating the holidays early this year, and cable is helping them out: Hallmark and Lifetime kicked off their Christmas movie marathons at the end of October, Freeform debuted their Kickoff to Christmas lineup at the beginning of this month, and AMC rolled out its Best Christmas Ever lineup this week. These holiday movie marathons are especially attractive to marketers this year as consumers look for “much-needed comfort in a pandemic,” and touchstones of normalcy. YPulse’s Winter Holiday Plans report found that 58% of 13-39-year-olds agree holiday movies and music can’t come early enough this year. (Adweek)
