TikTok is celebrating Latin Heritage Month with the addition of their Latin Visionary Voices shoutout. In a continued effort to uplift marginalized voices, the social media platform’s new list is spotlighting popular Latin creators, musicians, and small business owners in honor of Latin Heritage Month. TikTok will host in-person events and in-app activations, as well as uplift Latinx-owned businesses and music through hashtags and their Spanish Sounds Page. The social media platform said in a statement that they are looking forward to celebrating “the Latin creators and community leaders who are breaking boundaries, inspiring others, and creating space for diverse voices.” YPulse data shows young people of color say TikTok is the third most inclusive and diverse entertainment media platform, just behind Netflix and Instagram.
