For Gen Alpha, Sesame Street will be on YouTube. Coming after the announcement that Netflix will be hosting new seasons of the show starting in November, YouTube will be “host to the largest digital library” of the show’s content starting in 2026. YouTube reports that Sesame Street content surpassed 5B views over the last year, a more than 130% growth in viewership. The deal with Sesame Workshop is granting YouTube both old episodes of the show and new content from the producers, making it a hub for young viewers. YPulse data shows YouTube is the third top platform Gen Z and Millennial parents say their kids watch content on weekly, following behind Netflix and Disney+, which we know means it’s a staple in their screentime.
