TikTok launched its Media Literacy Hub to fight fake news ahead of the U.K. General Election. Created in partnership with the fact-checking organization Logically Facts, the in-app hub has tutorial videos so users can gain critical thinking and news literacy skills. It also includes guidelines on how to evaluate the trustworthiness of online information so TikTok users can “tell fact from fiction.” It will direct users to TikTok’s “General Election Centre,” launched earlier this month, to find official information from the Electoral Commission for election-related content.
