British Gen Z females are increasingly getting into sports. EY’s recent Sports Engagement Index shows that 66% of 18-24-year-olds females in the U.K. are actively engaging with sports, only -13pts less than their male counterparts. Their growing interest in watching games, attending live events, and participating in sports is helping narrow the gap between male and female engagement. In the U.K., England’s national women’s football team—nicknamed The Lionesses—has been very successful on the pitch lately and have contributed to getting more young girls in the country interested in football.
