Bumble is introducing a new artificial intelligence tool called Deception Detector to identify and remove fake profiles.A recent study from Bumble found that many daters are concerned about the possibility of encountering dating scams and fake profiles online. The issue of scams in dating apps has become more prevalent in recent years, with people losing millions of dollars to romance scams in 2021 alone. The company reports the AI automatically blocked nearly all (95%) spam or scam profiles, and the reports of such accounts was down 45% during its testing phase. YPulse’s Dating & Relationships report shows that dating apps are among the top ways that 18-39-year-olds flirt or date. (Mashable)
