Rings have become a widespread trend in men’s fashion for Gen Z. For “ring guys,” this style can say a lot—while historically signifying a “tough” look for rock stars and bikers, it now represents more of an individuality in their style. Men’s fashion at large has been incorporating more feminine elements like lace shirts, slim loafers, crop tops, and pearl necklaces—but paired with the chunky, stacked rings make a diverging trend that presents a more edgy and bold aesthetic. Scott Santiago, brand manager at Grailed, explains “as time has gone on, designer labels have just mattered a lot less, and it’s more about how eclectic or how loud your actual outfit is,” explaining why men’s fashion is elevating and shifting in these ways. YPulse’s Fashion Preferences and Style report shows nearly half of Gen Z males say their fashion is highly influenced by social media. (WSJ)
