Snapchat launched Snapchat+ gift memberships just in time for the holidays. This week, the platform announced that U.S. users can now purchase their premium subscription as a gift through Amazon. The monthly subscription is gaining popularity amongst young people and was able to reach 5M subscribers this year. In contrast, “X Premium is still struggling to reach even a million paying subscribers, despite X making a much bigger push on its subscription program.” Ultimately, the incentive for Snapchat+ lies in its ability to provide users with a deeper connection to the app’s customization features, bringing them closer to their friends.
