Gen Z’s event purchases are no longer just in the post-COVID boom, they’re the norm. Compared to ticket purchases in 2019, pent-up demand fueled a huge boost in sales at the end of 2021 and beginning of 2022. But now, the CEO of Vivid Seats says ticket sales are consistent, regardless of claims that Gen Z is going to cut back experiential spending. In fact, he says the gen prioritizes these purchases over items, which means music, sports, and theatre fans alike are buying tickets whether out of passion or event FOMO. YPulse’ Experiences report shows that the majority of Gen Z do prefer to spend their money on experiences over material items, so even inflation isn’t keeping them away from living their lives to the fullest when their wallet allows for it.
