College is becoming less important to Gen Z—but maybe only some of them.YPulse has told you before that the number of Gen Z students who plan to go to college has fallen significantly; while the vast majority still plan to pursue higher ed, some are more focused on gaining job experience to push them ahead. But according to new research, young women are more likely than young men to view college as “very” or “fairly important,” which may be linked to a lesser confidence in financial security in the long term. Likewise, young people of color are more likely to value a college education, perhaps because they’re still the minority on many campuses. YPulse data affirms that POC and female middle / high school / college students are more likely to say a college degree will be valuable to their future success. (Fast Company)
