Chick-fil-A is planning to come back to the U.K.—but it’s a controversial move. One of young North Americans’ favourite fast food chains is trying to expand again in the U.K., but it’s not a warm welcome from the Brits. The brand’s first foray into the U.K. market in 2019 didn’t go to plan after boycotts over its founders’ support for Christian groups opposed to same-sex marriage. And with same-sex marriage more accepted among young Europeans, it’s going to be a hard fight to win for Chick-fil-A to settle down in the U.K. But we know that young Europeans—Gen Z especially—are just as obsessed with fast food as their American peers, so the move to the U.K. may very well be a success for Chick-fil-A—it could even get into the top fast food brands list.
