Men are still dominating the highest paid career fields for college graduates. A Bankrate survey analyzed which college degrees are earning graduates the highest median salaries and found that the vast majority of graduates (78%) with those degrees are men. Meanwhile, women—who actually now outnumber men in America’s college-educated workforce—are the majority holders of degrees with far lower earning potentials. Of the 20 degrees Bankrate found to be the most lucrative, with electrical and computer engineering at the top, only one showed a majority graduates being women: pharmacy. But even within these top-paying STEM careers, women make less than their male counterparts on average. YPulse data shows gender equality / sexism is a top issue that young people today care about, as it clearly still affects them. (Fortune)
