Concern amongst parents is growing as e-bikes become popular with teenagers.With regulations failing to meet the number of these electric vehicles entering the market, teenagers are getting into crashes due to the high-speed capabilities and being mistaken as motor vehicles. Now, parents who once encouraged their kids to take e-bikes as a mode of transportation are sharing their safety concerns. One mother whose daughter suffered head trauma from an e-bike accident says, “As much as you want to believe they are riding a bike, it’s just different. They go really fast.” YPulse research shows that 20% of Gen Z enjoy road biking as an outdoor activity. (NYT)
