Oscar Mayer is bringing the viral hot dog straw to life.After a video of a man drinking a beer with a hot dog as a straw at a baseball game blew up online last year, the company is commemorating the viral moment’s one-year anniversary by producing a silicone version of the straw. The limited-edition item is available on Oscar Mayer’s website for pre-order and will give away a select number of plastic franks to consumers for free. The associate director of the company says that they “hope [the hot dog straw] brings a friendly reminder that we don’t need to take enjoying a delicious hot dog seriously.” YPulse has told you before that brands who have taken on quirky marketing campaigns have caught the attention of young consumers.
