New data shows that teenagers favor YouTube over Twitch as a gaming platform. A recent report from Precise TV and Giraffe Insights found that Gen Z teens look to YouTube as their top destination for gaming, despite there being concerns over their child privacy protections and other transparency issues. The VP of independent media agency Media+ believes much of Youtube’s success can be attributed to its ability of “blending TikTok, Twitch and Netflix.” And with YPulse research showing that gaming is dominating Gen Z’s screen time, it is crucial for platforms to appeal to this gen’s interests to maintain relevancy.
