Pumpkin Spice drinks are launching earlier and earlier. Coffee chains in the U.S. have been steadily moving up the return of their Autumnal pumpkin spice drinks since 2019, meeting the demand of consumers who look forward to the drink all year. What was once a September product signaling the approach of Fall, are now late-to-mid-summer returns. And while cold coffee drinks have risen significantly in popularity, which some might assume wouldn’t match up with the coziness of a warm pumpkin drink, consumers have continued to seek out more Fall flavors as early as July. In fact, SpotOn found a 2,200% increase in pumpkin-flavored offerings on restaurant menus industry-wide since July 1, the vast majority being beverages. After all, young consumers are always up for a “little treat” and anything pumpkin flavored gets them excited for the back-to-school season. (Marketing Dive)
