The “little treat” trend on TikTok is taking young people by storm.

Jul 05 2023

The “little treat” trend on TikTok is taking young people by storm. Whether it be iced coffee, diet coke, or a bagel, Millennials and Gen Z are sharing the “little treats” they buy themselves as a daily reward. This treat culture, as it’s known, is essentially “the phenomenon of indulging in small, inexpensive pleasures as a way to get a much-needed boost of happiness and satisfaction.” Users all over TikTok are sharing videos of their treats, which act as incentives for being productive and provide something to look forward to. And the benefits of these young gens’ tiny rewards are scientifically backed—one clinical psychologist explains that “treat culture is a form of self-care, as well as a way to break up your normal routine.” YPulse research shows that Gen Z and Millennials enjoy indulgent treats as a way to nourish their body and mind.
