Embodying their escapist attitudes, social media users have taken to platforms such as TikTok to share their version of a European summer aesthetic, although they aren’t necessarily travelling abroad. One user shared that “Creating outfits curated for a trip I will have one day is a way of making it more attainable for myself.” Much of this mindset comes from Americans wanting to escape “the economic issues and political unrest” in the county, and Europecore provides just that.
