TikTok will now be available at thousands of Redbox kiosks throughout the U.S. The two companies have partnered up to bring the social media platform’s videos to about a third of Redbox’s movie dispensing kiosk locations. On each of these machines, film selections will show its accompanying TikTok page so that customers can view their social media “presence.” As part of the deal, advertisers will also be able to purchase ad space next to the TikToks that are featured through Crackle Connex, which is owned by Redbox’s same parent company, Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment. TikTok’s Head of Global Distribution for New Screens says that this partnership brings “an effective and fresh approach to advertising.” YPulse’s Media Consumption report data shows that social media is the number one place young people watch video content, so this partnership is a strategic move on Redbox’s part to engage younger consumers.
