Food companies are creating innovative food and beverages to market to Gen Z. Brands are thinking up new products to attract the next gen of customers, rather than relying on advertising their older food and drinks. For example, Taco Bell is turning to chicken menu items as they notice that Gen Z prefers the meat over beef; products like the Cheesy Chicken Crispanada and Crispy Chicken Tacos have been developed with Gen Z consumers in mind, especially due to the gen’s concern with the environmental impact of cattle farming. Additionally, beverage companies like Heineken have launched Gen Z-focused brands such as Heineken Silver, which offers lighter, healthier beers that cater to younger taste buds. The chief marketing officer of Heineken USA notes the importance of making new strategies for younger gens, explaining that “You’ve got to work harder for people to love your brand and give them options.” YPulse research shows that Gen Z is more likely to be loyal to brands that foster innovation.
