Parsons School of Design students are looking back at the past semester’s metaverse inspired fashion course. Last fall, YPulse shared how the school’s partnership with Roblox would be introducing digital fashion to young people through a new course—rather than modeling physical designs for their end of year presentation, the class was challenged to use technology throughout the semester to make a virtual clothing collection. Now, as the semester comes to a close, students and professors are giving their hot takes about the future of fashion. Both said they “intend to use the technical skills they learned in the class — some just for fun as a creative outlet, others to incorporate digital clothing elements into their existing work.” YPulse’s Gaming report data shows 59% of young people think gaming is an appropriate or very appropriate way to teach K-12 students, so education is certainly a space they’re interested in seeing gaming present in.
