Parson’s School of Design is tapping Roblox to help educate young people through a digital fashion course. The class will guide students through digital design using Roblox tools and emphasize the importance of avatar fashion in the metaverse. YPulse’s metaverse trend research shows that 67% of 13-39-year-olds who play virtual world games say seeing other avatars in branded clothing makes them want to wear that brand. Instructors will come from both Parson’s and Roblox’s team and say they’ll essentially “explore the intricate relationship between digital and physical fashion set in an immersive future.” The course will run during the Spring 2023 semester for a total of 16 weeks. Young designers are the key to keeping fashion trending in the virtual fashion space and they’re even making millions doing it just as a side hobby. (The Verge)
