Quiet luxury is Gen Z and Millennials’ newest and most popular fashion trend. HBO’s Succession ignited a resurgence of the classic “old money” fashion aesthetic and has been making its rounds on social media platforms like TikTok over the last several months. In fact, after the first episode aired, Google searches for “quiet luxury,” “stealth wealth” and “old money style” skyrocketed by 684%, 990%, and 874%, respectively. Recently, the style is only getting more popular; in fact it reveals a larger cultural shift among young consumers who are dropping the glitz and glamour once sought after thanks to celeb fashion moguls like the Kardashians, and instead they’re swapping that for chic / toned down luxury that isn’t so in your face, but still clearly screams “expensive.” Fashion experts are concluding that this isn’t just another ‘fit for the feed trend and that “there’s an evolution within the American clients who want more of the minimalist ‘French girl’ style.” (WWD)
