Half of Gen Z say digital experiences can be meaningful replacements to the real thing. According to Deloitte’s recent Digital Media Trends survey, 50% of Gen Z and Millennials agree with the statement: “I believe online experiences are meaningful replacements for in-person experiences.” Coming out of the pandemic, these gens got used to doing school, work, watching events, and hanging out with friends all online—and they’re clearly content with continuing to do so now. The survey also found that 48% of Gen Z and Millennials say they “spend more time interacting with others on social media than in the physical world.” And when it comes to missing in-person events, YPulse’s Experiences report data shows that 55% of Gen Z and Millennials agree: “Attending an event virtually helps me feel more included when I cannot attend in-person.” (Yahoo!
