Kid app Zigazoo is being rebranded to have separate apps for both Gen Alpha and Gen Z as they look to take advantage of TikTok ban buzz. Zigazoo, “a threaded video platform that initially appealed to kids,” is now looking to bring teens and young adults to the app. But parents shouldn’t worry because Zigazoo Kids will now be gearing toward children ages 3-12-years-old. The platform’s big selling point among investors and Millennial parents is “its robust set of trust and safety features” that make the app feel more secure than TikTok. Zigazoo Kids requires parental consent and other safety measures like “optional private accounts, human-in-the-loop moderation, and an algorithm that promotes positivity.” YPulse data shows TikTok is the second most used social media platform Millennial parents say their kids use, but they’re also concerned about their wellbeing on the app. (TechCrunch)
