After the viral TikTok hearing, users are showing their love for the app and its CEO. TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew, a Millennial who formerly interned at Facebook, has been making headlines thanks to his fight against a potential TikTok ban and while Congress has been insisting that the app is dangerous, Chew has been working to rectify those accusations. As he defended the app, clips went viral of Chew’s public hearing and while Millennials are stitching videos and discussing the issues—including the blatant racism Chew has encountered because of the hearing—Gen Z is doing what they do best by creating CapCut meme templates and edits lusting after Chew, calling him “TikTok’s daddy.” YPulse’s Social Media Behavior report data shows that over half of Gen Z and Millennial POC currently use TikTok.
