The 2023 Kids’ Choice Awards grew its audience by 40% this year. While it seemed as though live award shows were dying out, last weekend’s event proved to be a hit for Nickelodeon. According to the media company, the Kids’ Choice Awards “drew 3.1 million viewers across linear and digital platforms, which is up 40% over last year.” Surprisingly on cable, the audience reached 637K viewers, “which ranked as the top cable telecast among kids 2-11, kids 6-11, and tweens 9-14.” The event also made out as the highest co-viewing broadcast since 2017 with 54% of adults ages 18-49-years-old watching with kids ages 2-11-years-old. Hosted by Nate Burleson and TikTok star Charli D’Amelio (who was also crowned Favorite Female Creator), the event featured a ton of creators and TV stars kids have been loving. Of course, the reality according to YPulse data is still that only 8% of Millennial parents report their kids watch cable. (Deadline)
