DuckDuckGo, the search engine known for their privacy measures, is getting in on the artificial intelligence hype.

Mar 08 2023

DuckDuckGo, the search engine known for their privacy measures, is getting in on the artificial intelligence hype. Like Google and Microsoft, the search engine is announcing the beta launch for their AI-powered summarization feature called DuckAssist, powered by ChatGPT tech. When users type in any question, DuckAssist will be able to provide straightforward and direct answers. The system is also developed in part by Anthropic, “an AI startup founded by ex-OpenAI employees.” The new function is meant to bring in answers that come from sources other than Wikipedia, the search engine’s main source of information. Currently, DuckAssist is “only available via DDG’s apps and browser extensions — but the company says it plans to roll it out to all search users in the coming weeks.” (TechCrunch)
