Amidst increasing scrutiny of TikTok, the European Commission has banned its staff from using the app. TikTok has been under close examination by the European Union for a little while now, and the institution has voiced concerns about the potential misuse of personal data from the Beijing-based company. Now, just a few weeks after receiving the CEO in Brussels, it decided to ask its thousands of employees to remove the app from their phones. But the success of the app among young consumers in the region is not slowing. YPulse’s data shows TikTok is European Gen Z’s most used social platform. (Euronews)
