Gen Z’s fear of green texts is helping Apple dominate the industry. As smartphones were first introduced to Millennials growing up, there was debate about which company to go with, but for Gen Z Apple is the only choice. For this gen, deciding between Apple and Android is no question, and as YPulse’s very own Anastasia Pelot told the Financial Times, their main reason is having the same tech as their peers, not being the odd one out who has to “‘explain to my friends why our group chat is green now.’” This generation’s affinity for iPhones is the driving force behind Apple’s success which in turn, opens them up to the entire ecosystem of Apple devices like AirPods, iPads, and Apple Watches. Behind Nike, Apple is the second brand Gen Z tells YPulse they are most loyal to, and innovation is what fuels their likelihood to be committed to one brand. (Financial Times)
