The 22-year-old singer / songwriter Beatrice Kristi Ilejay Laus, known professionally as Beabadoobee spent her youth listening to Swift (as did most of this gen) and says she always pictured herself opening for her. The Filipino-British star rose to fame over the pandemic and young listeners most know her from hearing clips of her music as trending TikTok audios like “death bed (coffee for your head)” and “the perfect pair.” YPulse’s Music report data shows that over half of BIPOC Gen Z and Millennials say they discover new music on social media, but the singer also has over 13M monthly listeners on Spotify, proving her music connects with this gen beyond viral posts, too.
