Chipotle is opening a new restaurant focusing entirely on bowls. Located in Santa Monica, the new restaurant Farmesa will be operating as a testing ground to see if the chain will continue to branch off into further endeavors for the future. Opening in March, Farmesa’s California location will offer bougie versions of the customizable orders Chipotle is most known for, including menu options like “Everything Space-Crusted Ora King Salmon, Classic Santa Maria-Style Grilled Tri-Tip Steak, and sides like Whipped Potatoes and Sweet Potato Chips.” Prices are set to range from $11.95 to $16.95, a slight increase from Chipotle’s standard meals, but will feature all organic ingredients. While this might appeal to Millennial foodies in the area, YPulse research shows young consumers are tightening their budgets recently and eating out is the number one thing they say they’d cut back on to save money.
